Women's Golf in Seventh After First Day at Gannon

FAIRVIEW, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles women's golf team kicked off their final tournament of the fall season on Sunday morning, finding themselves in seventh place after 18 holes at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic at Whispering Woods Golf Club. Clarion posted a team score of 361 in the first round.
 
Hannah Smith was the Golden Eagles' leader on Sunday, pacing a trio of players that finished inside the top-30 with a score of 86 to rank 25th. Her day included a birdie – one of only two for the Golden Eagles on Sunday – on the second-to-last hole, with Smith shooting a three on the par four fourth hole.
 
Kennady Norton was second on the team and 26th in the field, coming in two strokes behind Smith with a score of 88. McKayla Kerle was the third Golden Eagle to rank in the top-30, shooting an 89 and finishing the day in 28th place. Amber Roth rounded out Clarion's scoring with a 98, though she did add the other birdie for the Golden Eagles with a three on the par four fifth hole.
