Women's Golf Places Third at Grove City Fall Invite

GROVE CITY, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles women's golf team showed well in a competitive field on Monday afternoon, placing third out of 10 teams at the Grove City Fall Invitational. Clarion shot a team round of 340 at Grove City Country Club. 

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was Hannah Smith, who held sole possession of eighth place with a score of 82. Her performance on the back nine was a marked improvement over the front nine, with Smith making both of her birdies on the final nine holes. Those came on a pair of par fours, holes No. 12 and 14. 

Just two strokes behind Smith and three places behind her was Kennady Norton, who carded a round of 84. Her lone birdie of the day also came on the back nine, with a four on the par five 16th hole. 

Third on the team and tied for 15th overall was McKayla Kerle, who posted a round of 86. She recorded two birdies on the day, including one on the par three fifth hole as well as the par four 15th hole. Amber Roth rounded out Clarion's scoring with an 88, making a birdie on the par five 18th hole to tie for 18th. Rylee Thompson tied for 36th with a score of 97.
