Women's Swimming & Diving Wraps Third Day at Akron

AKRON, Ohio – The Golden Eagles women's swimming team competed on the third day of the 2025 Zippy Invite on Saturday.
 
In the 200 Free, senior Joslyn Jurski just barely missed out on her second NCAA B cut of the meet, touching the wall win a time of 1:52.74 in the morning prelims on Saturday. That was just five-hundredths behind the standard of 1:52.39. Jurski went on to finish in a tie for 14th place with a time of 1:53.22. Junior Amanda Fetsko took 19th in the event with a time of 1:53.02.
 
Sophomore Rachael Hess added a 14th-place finish in the 100 Fly, clocking in at 57.23. Freshman Elli Knausz provided the top individual finish for the women on Saturday, placing 11th overall in the B Final of the 400 IM with a time of 4:31.43.
 
The Golden Eagles displayed depth with numerous swimmers scoring points in multiple events. In the 100 Back, senior Zoey Beck won the C heat with a time of 57.27, followed by senior Sydney Updegrave in 18th (58.22) and senior Erika Zimmerman in 23rd (59.29).
 
Senior Rachel Carapella and freshman Gina DiNapoli finished 19th (58.55) and 20th (58.60), respectively, in the 100 Fly. In the 400 IM, junior Sarah Grimenstein placed 21st (4:39.64) and sophomore Eva Molenaar finished 24th (4:48.55). Molenaar also added points in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing 23rd with a time of 1:07.59.
 
In relay action, the 200 Free Relay 'A' team of Zimmerman, Fetsko, Maddy McTeer, and Jurski combined for a time of 1:35.80 to finish in 13th place. That was just shy of the NCAA B Cut of 1:33.14.
