YORK, Pa. ---
David Bocci notched a school record and was one of three individuals to earn All-PSAC status on Monday night, as the Golden Eagles kicked off the first day of the 2025 PSAC Swimming Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center.
Â
The Golden Eagle men currently sit in third place in the field, with a score of 117.
Â
Clarion boasted a top-three finisher in all three individual events as well as the lone relay contested on Monday night, but Bocci's performance included breaking a 16-year-old Clarion record. Competing in the finals of the 1000 Free for the first time in his collegiate career, Bocci placed third with a time of 9:30.43, breaking the previous record of 9:32.83 set by Dustin Fedunok in 2009.
Â
George Horey and
Frankie DiMartini also scored in the 1000 Free, taking 13
th and 14
th respectively. Horey finished in a time of 9:57.87 while DiMartini clocked in a 10:05.47.
Â
The best individual finish, though, belonged to
Dominic Cortopassi. The junior earned all-conference honors by taking second place in the 200 IM, touching the wall in a time of 1:47.96. He led West Chester's Kolos Nagy through the butterfly and backstroke legs and the two were neck-and-neck through the breaststroke, but Nagy overtook him for good in the freestyle for the win.
Â
Mason Irwin and
Michael Lintelman made up the other scorers in the 200 IM, taking 10
th and 11
th respectively. Irwin placed 10
th with a time of 1:53.29 while Lintelman was just fractions of a second behind him at 1:53.42.
Â
Rounding out the trio of Golden Eagles to earn All-PSAC honors on Monday was
Gavin Guckavan. He just missed out on an NCAA B cut in the 50 Free, taking third place with a career-best time of 20.43. That represented a significant improvement over his previous PR in the event, a 20.80 set at the Zippy Invitational in December.
Â
The other all-conference performance of the night belonged to the  800 Free Relay team, with Clarion taking second in the field with a time of 6:47.73. The first two legs of the relay were the fastest, with Bocci leading off with a time of 1:41.24 and Cortopassi coming in at 1:40.58.
Mason Peck and Irwin rounded out the foursome.
