Four All-PSAC Performances Highlight First Day at PSACs

YORK, Pa. --- David Bocci notched a school record and was one of three individuals to earn All-PSAC status on Monday night, as the Golden Eagles kicked off the first day of the 2025 PSAC Swimming Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center.

The Golden Eagle men currently sit in third place in the field, with a score of 117.

Clarion boasted a top-three finisher in all three individual events as well as the lone relay contested on Monday night, but Bocci's performance included breaking a 16-year-old Clarion record. Competing in the finals of the 1000 Free for the first time in his collegiate career, Bocci placed third with a time of 9:30.43, breaking the previous record of 9:32.83 set by Dustin Fedunok in 2009.

George Horey and Frankie DiMartini also scored in the 1000 Free, taking 13th and 14th respectively. Horey finished in a time of 9:57.87 while DiMartini clocked in a 10:05.47.

The best individual finish, though, belonged to Dominic Cortopassi. The junior earned all-conference honors by taking second place in the 200 IM, touching the wall in a time of 1:47.96. He led West Chester's Kolos Nagy through the butterfly and backstroke legs and the two were neck-and-neck through the breaststroke, but Nagy overtook him for good in the freestyle for the win.

Mason Irwin and Michael Lintelman made up the other scorers in the 200 IM, taking 10th and 11th respectively. Irwin placed 10th with a time of 1:53.29 while Lintelman was just fractions of a second behind him at 1:53.42.

Rounding out the trio of Golden Eagles to earn All-PSAC honors on Monday was Gavin Guckavan. He just missed out on an NCAA B cut in the 50 Free, taking third place with a career-best time of 20.43. That represented a significant improvement over his previous PR in the event, a 20.80 set at the Zippy Invitational in December.

The other all-conference performance of the night belonged to the  800 Free Relay team, with Clarion taking second in the field with a time of 6:47.73. The first two legs of the relay were the fastest, with Bocci leading off with a time of 1:41.24 and Cortopassi coming in at 1:40.58. Mason Peck and Irwin rounded out the foursome.
