Jurski Wins 1000 Free Title on Day One at PSACs

YORK, Pa. --- Joslyn Jurski broke her own school record and won her first career conference championship in the process, highlighting an exciting first day for the Golden Eagles women's swimming & diving team at the 2025 PSAC Swimming Championships.

Clarion sits in third place after the first night of the event with a score of 195.

Jurski entered Monday night's finals as the top seed in the 1000 Free, logging a time of 10:23.62 at the Zippy Invitational in December of this season. She blew by that mark as well as her own previous school record of 10:16.91 set at last year's PSAC Championships, touching the wall first in a time of 10:11.90. That was nearly seven full seconds ahead of West Chester's Danielle Stewart, who placed second in the field. Jurski previously placed third in the event in 2023.

The conference championship is the first for a Golden Eagle woman since 2021. Ava Arnold was the last Clarion woman to win an event at the PSAC Championships, winning the 200 Back that year.

The 800 Free Relay had an outstanding performance in the final event of the night, placing second in the field with a time of 7:39.07. Madelynn McTeer led off the race for the Golden Eagles, followed by Amanda Fetsko, Jordan Kutchak and Jurski. Fetsko had a huge second leg of the race, swimming a 200 split of 1:52.03, while Jurski swam a 1:51.07 as the anchor leg.

Hannah Greenway just narrowly missed out on earning All-PSAC honors on Monday but had the other major individual highlight of the evening. The senior sprinter took fifth place in the 50 Free finals, touching the wall in a time of 23.49. McTeer, Haley Miller and Fetsko made up a trio of swimmers in the B final with McTeer taking fifth in that heat and 13th overall at 24.26. Miller was just one-hundredth of a second behind her at 24.27, and Fetsko took 16th overall with a time of 24.54.

In the 200 IM, Rachael Hess had the top finish for the Golden Eagles, taking fourth in the B final and 12th overall with a time of 2:10.13. Sarah Grimenstein was two spots behind her, taking 14th with a time of 2:10.83. Eva Molenaar rounded out the scoring by taking 18th in a time of 2:12.36.
