PREVIEW: Swimming & Diving Set For D-II Championships

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Golden Eagles men's and women's swimming & diving teams will kick off five days of action at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships on Tuesday, hosted this year at the IU Natatorium on the campus of UIndy.

NCAA.com will provide live video of all five days of the championships, with multiple feeds each day for preliminary rounds in the morning and championship rounds in the evening. Check the linked broadcast schedule each day for the desired links.

The week starts with the diving prequalification meet on Tuesday, with Clarion sending 10 divers - Jack Beattie, Ethan Coronado, Michael Flamm, Zakary Kennedy and Corwin Lindeman for the men, and Luna Castellanos, Alexa Gonczi, Colleen Hudson, Katie Madigan and Taelyn Thomas for the women – to the meet. Every diver at the meet will compete in front of the national judges on both boards, with the top 22 women and top 18 men advancing to the rest of the national meet.

The Clarion diving tradition has continued to shine under coach Heath Calhoun, a two-time CSCAA Division II Women's Diving Coach of the Year (2023-24). Last year all four women the Golden Eagles sent to the national meet advanced through the prequalification meet and earned All-America status, including a national championship in the 3-Meter Dive for Gonczi. She went on to win Division II Women's Diver of the Year last year, while her teammate Castellanos won both boards and Diver of the Year honors in 2023.

The men's diving roster, meanwhile, will look markedly different from a year ago, when Flamm and Zach Schering were the only two that competed. Kennedy, Coronado and Lindeman represent a trio of freshman making their debuts at the national meet, while Beattie – a 2023 All-American – makes his return after an injury last year.

In the pool, David Bocci will make his third straight appearance at the Championships, and the senior will look to claim All-American status for the third year. He placed eighth in the 200 Fly as a sophomore in 2023 and followed that up with a 10th place finish in the event last year. Bocci is also penciled in for the 100 Fly and the 200 Free. For the women, Joslyn Jurski will make her first career appearance at the NCAA Championships, with the distance specialist penciled in for three events: the 1000 Free, the 500 Free and the 200 Free.
