CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's golf team kicked off action at their home invitational on Saturday afternoon, with Clarion ranking fifth out of 10 teams after 18 holes at the Golden Eagle Autumn Invitational at Clarion Oaks. Clarion shot a 353 at Clarion Oaks Golf Course, putting them one stroke behind California (PA) for fourth place.
 
 McKayla Kerle cracked the top-10 after the first round with a score of 83, putting her at 11 over par. She made birdie on the par five No. 3 hole, one of three birdies on the day for Clarion golfers. Hannah Smith had one of the others as part of her round of 84 that tied her for 11^th overall; she birdied a par four, doing so on No. 11.
 
Third on the team on Saturday was Rylie Quaiser, who was the lone Golden Eagle to birdie the par five No. 14 hole, with the freshman tying for 16^th with a score of 88. Braylyn Umbenhouer and Ashlee Albright rounded out Clarion's team entry with identical scores of 98.
 
Action will continue on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Clarion Oaks.
