LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced their weekly women's golf award winners on Wednesday. Clarion's
McKayla Kerle earned PSAC Women's Golf Player of the Week honors after winning the Golden Eagle Autumn Invitational at Clarion Oaks over the weekend.
Â
Kerle turned in a terrific performance in the second round to rally from five strokes back to win by two over Kutztown's Brooke Graham. The senior carded an 83 on Saturday but responded by slicing nine strokes off in the second round, shooting a 74 that was seven strokes better than Graham's 81 to earn the win. After starting with two pars and a bogey on her first three holes Kerle broke through with an eagle on par five No. 3 to slip to one under on the day. She ended up dead even on the back nine, making back to back birdies on Nos. 13 and 14, and ended up with a 74 on the afternoon.
Â
Clarion finished fourth overall in the field at the Tournament. They will complete their fall season at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic in Erie over Oct. 11-12.
