(Latrobe, Pa.): Clarion's #1 doubles team of
Jaclyn Metzger and
Michaela Hardy won their match today, but that was the only point the team could muster as St. Vincent downed the Golden Eagles 8-1 in Women's Tennis action on Monday.
Metzger and Hardy defeated Alexis Cup and Nicole Peer 8-4 at #1 doubles, but
Lauren Eonta and Brittany Bucheit lost 8-1 to Kaitlin Wolz and Amanda Ganz at #2 and
Andi Gibson and Claire Kerstetter lost 8-1 to Emily Morris and Jess Paruch at #3.
In singles action, Meztger and Hardy went three sets at #1 and #2 singles before dropping their closely contested matches. Metzger lost 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 to Cup, while Hardy won the first set 4-6, lost 6-0 and lost 10-7 in the tie breaker.
Clarion is now 1-4 in the Fall campaign and will host Seton Hill at the Campbell Courts on Wednesday.
