CLARION NETTERS EDGED BY SETON HILL 5-4

(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion split their singles matches 3-3, but the Golden Eagles lost a close match to Seton Hill 5-4 on Wednesday in women's tennis action.

Clarion now falls to 1-5 on the season, while Seton Hill moves to 1-4.

Jaclyn Metzger defeated Lauren Duffy at #1 singles by a 6-1, 6-2 score. The Eagles Michaela Hardy had to forfeit due to injury at #2; Brittany Buchheit lost 6-2, 6-4 to Rebecca Cenkar at #3; Alysia Sturdivant lost a great battle 6-2, 6-1, 7-6, 7-3 to Maria Mastromatteo at #4; Lauren Eonta defeated Catherine Goetce 6-2, 6-4 at #5 and Andi Gibson defeated Laura Boord at #6 by a score of 6-0, 6-0.

Clarion's #1 doubles team of Metzger and Hardy lost to Madigan and Cenkar 8-6; while Buchheit and Eonta lost 8-6 to Mastromatteo and Duffy at #2 and Sturdivant and Gibson defeated Goetce and Boord 8-1 at #3.

Clarion travels to Ashland and will take on Ashland and Lake Erie College.
