(Erie, Pa.) The Clarion's women's tennis team defeated Penn-State Behrend with a 9-0 win Friday at Westwood Racquet Club.

Clarion raised its overall record to 6-2. Coach Sabatose said, there was “Excellent play by the entire team.” 

In singles action, Jaclyn Metzger defeated Leslie Durante 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1; Megan Bettwy defeated Jade Buhite 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2; Madeline Robinson defeated Megan Noschese  6-4, 6-0 at No. 3; Brittany Buchheit defeated Rachel Harris 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4; Michaela Hardy defeated Casey Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5; and at No. 6 Claire Kerstetter defeated Carissa Zozos 7-5, 6-0.

In doubles competition No. 1 team Metzer and Caitlin Clemons defeated Durante and Buhite 8-0; Bettwy and Lauren Rhine defeated Nochese and Harris 8-2 at No.2. Robinson and Hardy defeated Smith and Zozoss at No. 3 with a score of 8-0.

The Golden Eagles will take on Slippery Rock University at Campbell Courts Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
