EAGLE NETTERS LOSE 9-0 TO THE ROCK

(Clarion, Pa.) Clarion's Women's Tennis team hosted Slippery Rock on Tuesday at the Campbell Courts. The Golden Eagles were defeated by a 9-0 score.

Clarion's overall record is now 6-3 (0-1 PSAC-West).

In singles action, Jaclyn Metzger was defeated by Sarah Lynch at No. 1 by a 6-3, 6-1 score. Megan Bettwy was defeated by Lizzy Yetiskul 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2; Madeline Robinson lost to Janelle Krantz 4-6, 6-1, (10-5) at No.3; Lauren Rhine was defeated by Lauren Coggins 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4; Brittany Buchheit lost to Sam Bruggeman 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5. Coach Sabatose said, “Brittany never gave up the entire match and played her heart out”; and Michaela Hardy lost to Melissa McCutcheon 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6.

In doubles play, Metzger and Clemons lost to Lynch and Yetiskul 8-1 at No. 1; Bettwy and Rhine lost to Krantz and Bruggeman 8-3 at No. 2; and Robinson and Buchheit lost Coggins and McCutcheon 8-3 at No. 3. Coach Sabatose said, “Madeline's serves looked great today in both singles and doubles play.”

The Golden Eagles will host Grove City College at Campbell Courts Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
