EAGLE NETTERS LOSE 9-0 TO THE VULCANS

(California, Pa.) The Clarion's Women's Tennis team traveled to California University of Pennsylvania to take on the Vulcan's at The South Park Tennis Club on Friday. The Golden Eagles were defeated by a 9-0 score.

Clarion's overall record is now 6-4 (0-2 PSAC-West).

In singles action, Jaclyn Metzger was defeated by Annabel Pieschl at No. 1 by a 10-1 score. Megan Bettwy was defeated by Jade Pondicas 10-0 at No. 2; Madeline Robinson lost to Anastassiya Zherdeva 10-1 at No.3; Lauren Rhine was defeated by Franziska Steinhardt 10-0 at No. 4; Brittany Buchheit lost to Jesse Burrell 10-2 at No. 5; and Michaela Hardy lost to Jolien Borrenberghs 10-1 No. 6.

In doubles play, Metzger and Caitlin Clemons lost to Pieschl and Pondicas 8-1 at No. 1; Bettwy and Rhine lost to Zherdeva and Steinhardt 8-0 at No. 2; and Robinson and Hardy lost to Burrell and Borrenberghs 8-2 at No. 3.

The Golden Eagles will take on Mercyhurst at Campbell Courts Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for a conference match.
