Cassaundra Soars tied the game in the 86th minute

Box Score CLARION, Pa. - Clarion rallied from a 2-goal deficit in the second half, but fell short when Slippery Rock scored in the 89th minute to beat the Golden Eagles 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Caussaundra Soars tied the game at 2-2 with a wild goal off an assist from Casey Harsch in the 86th minute. In the 89th minute Slippery Rock's Shelby Ward broke away from Clarion defenders and scored the winning goal.

“It was a fantastic comeback, one of those games where everyone thought momentum was completely on their side and we turned it around,” Coach Eaton said. “Maybe for 20 or 30 minutes in the second half it was all us. A lot of credit to the girls, there's nothing negative to take from that game.”

Slippery Rock (5-1, 3-1) struck first with a goal from Cailin Conner off an assist from Lucy Hannon. Hannon then had a goal of her own in the 58th minute to put Slippery Rock ahead 2-0.

The Golden Eagles (1-4-2, 1-4) made it 2-1 in the 65th minute when Kathleen Warner scored off another Harsch assist.

Laura Saussol made four saves for Clarion.
