CLARION NETTERS DROP PAIR ON SATURDAY

                (Meadville, Pa.): Clarion junior Megan Bettwy (Jr. Hollidaysburg) won both her singles matches on Saturday but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles  lost 7-2 to Edinboro and 8-1 to Baldwin Wallace at a women's tennis tournament hosted by Allegheny College.

                In the Edinboro match Lauren Zezenski lost (Jr. Bernville) 6-2, 6-1 to Oranza Carrillo at #1; Bettwy defeated Raquel Holiday 7-6, 26, 10-5 at #2; Madeline Robinson (Jr. Amherst , N.Y.) lost 6-2, 6-2 to RyAnne Baldwin at #3; Jessica Kennelly (So. Aliquippa, Central Valley) lost 6-4, 6-3 to Nevena Kulina at #4; Caitlin Clemons (Jr. Williamsport) forfeited to Megan Cowling at #5 and Jazmin Harris (Fr. Monaca, Central Valley) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Lydia Brown at #6.

                In doubles Zezenski and Robinson lost 8-3 to Carrillo and Holiday at #1; Bettwy and Clemons def. Baldwin and Kulia at #2 and Kennelly and Harris lost 8-0 to Browne an dCowling at #3.

                In Clarion's 8-1 loss to Baldwin Wallace Zezenski lost 6-0, 6-2 to Kelsy Blatt at #1; Megan Bettwy won over Morgan Baker  3-6, 6-4, 10-8 at #2; Robinson lost 6-1, 6-1 to Claire Watts at #3; Kennelly lost 6-2, 6-4 to Mackenzie Baker at #4; Jazmin Harris lost 8-4 to Elizabeth Keller at #5 and forfeited #6 singles.

                In doubles Zezenski and Robinson lost 8-5 to Morgan and Blatt at #1; Bettwy and Kennely lost 8-6 to Watts and Baker at #2 and the Eagles forfeited at #3.

                Clarion will participate in the PSAC Singles Sept. 14-15 at Bloomsburg.
