CLARION WOMEN'S TENNIS LOSES 5-0 TO SLIPPERY ROCK
(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion junior
Megan Bettwy (Hollidaysburg) won her opening set, but with the Golden Eagles playing Slippery Rock in a "first to 5 points" match, the Rock defeated Clarion 5-0 in PSAC-West Women's Tennis on Monday and Bettwy's singles match went unfinished.
Clarion's overall record is now 3-10 overall and 0-3 in the PSAAC-West, while Slippery Rock is 8-8 overall and 1-1 in the West, and was traveling back to the Rock to finish a match against Edinboro on Monday night.
In doubles action Clarion's
Lauren Zezenski and
Madeline Robinson lost 8-0 to Nikolina Grbac and Sarah Joumond at #1,
Megan Bettwy and
Jessica Kennelly lost a hard fought 8-5 decision to Lauren Coggins and Kylee Woodman at #2 and
Jessica Dgien and
Allison Probst lost 8-0 to Stephanie Fortier and Courtney Gallagher at #3.
In singles play Zezenski lost 6-0, 6-0 to Grbac at #1 and Probst lost 6-1, 6-0 to Gallagher at #6 to finish the match.
Bettwy won her first set 7-5 against Sarah Joumond at #2 and had just started the second set when the match was called. Robinson, Kennelly and Dgien had lost their first set when the dual was called.
Clarion will travel to Edinboro on Tuesday for a 2pm match.
