CLARION DROPS 9-0 MATCH TO CAL (Clarion, Pa.): The Clarion Women's Tennis team hosted California in a PSAC-West tennis matchup at the Campbell Courts on Monday morning and lost to the Vulcans by a 9-0 margin.
Clarion's overall record rops to 8-7 and 0-4 in the PSAC-West, while the Vulcans are now 10-3 overall and 4-0 in the West.
The Golden Eagles, without
Lauren Zezenski on Monday, saw everyone move up one spot in singles play with
Allison Probst playing in the #6 position.
Megan Bettwy lost 6-0, 6-1 to Kiefer Shaw at #1;
Madeline Robinson lost 6-0, 6-0 to Ramona Czakon at #2;
Maria Snyder lost 6-0, 6-0 to Lena Dimmer at #3;
Jessica Kennelly lost 6-0, 6-1 to Mariela Sarinana 6-0, 6-1 at #4;
Jessica Dgien lost 6-0, 6-0 to Veronika Mikulis at #5 and
Allison Probst lost 6-0, 6-0 to Katie Olson at #6.
In doubles play
Bettwy and Robinson lost 8-2 to Shaw and Czakon at #1;
Snyder and Kennelly lost 8-0 to Dimmer and Mikulis at #2 and
Kaitlyn Mulligan and Corie Eckman lost 8-0 to Alice Johns and Sarinana at #3.
Clarion travels to Slippery Rock on Tuesday, and returns home for Senior Day to close out the season on Wednesday against Edinboro at 3pm at the Campbell Courts.
