CLARION WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS DAEMEN 7-2 (Amherst, N.Y.):
Alivia Arnold, Jessica Kennelly, Vinisha Reddy and
Michelle Petrilla were all double winners on Sunday as the Golden Eagle women's tennis team defeated Daemen 7-2 in Amherst, N.Y.
Played at the Ellicott Tennis Courts, Clarion raised its season record to 2-0, while Daemen dropped to 3-4.
In singles action
Alivia Arnold defeated Karli Hollins 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at #1.
Maria Snyder lost a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Hayle Scanlan at #2, and
Sarah Robbins lost to Gretchen Ringler 6-3, 6-0 at #3. The Eagles bounced back at #4 singles with
Jessica Kennelly defeating Jessica Robins 1-6, 7-5, 7-6;
Vinisha Reddy defeated Delaney Fragale 6-3, 6-1 at #5 and defeated Sarah Crissy 6-3, 6-2 at #6.
Michelle Petrilla In doules action Arnold and Snyder defeated Hollins and Hayle 8-5 at #1; Robbins and Kennelly defeated Ringler and Robins 9-7 at #2 and Petrilla and Reddy defeated Fragale and Aman Shamaa 8-4 at #3.
Clarion will play at Penn-State Altoona on Wednesday at 4:30.
