CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion women's tennis team snapped their losing streak with a dominant home victory on Friday, as the Golden Eagles topped Geneva by a 9-0 score at Campbell Courts on Clarion's campus.  With the win Clarion improves to 3-9 in dual matches this season.
 
The two teams played eight-game pro sets on the cold, sun-splashed day in Clarion as the Golden Eagles shut out the Golden Tornadoes.  Alivia Arnold returned to the lineup and notched a pair of victories in the top spot, helping to win at No. 1 doubles and winning her third match of the year at No. 1 singles.  Arnold and Maria Snyder started the day with a dominant 8-1 win over Elizabeth Stewart and Katherine Deitrick in doubles play, and the momentum carried over to singles as Arnold topped Stewart 8-1.  Likewise, Snyder cruised to a win over Deitrick in the No. 2 singles spot, winning 8-0.
 
Sarah Robbins snapped a four-match losing streak in singles play with a resounding 8-1 win over Megan Hinds at No. 3 singles, and Jessica Kennelly shut out Courtney Norman by an 8-0 score in No. 4 singles.  Those same combinations also met in doubles play, with Kennelly and Robbins winning handily by an 8-1 score in No. 2 doubles.  Michelle Petrilla and Allison Probst rounded out doubles play for the Golden Eagles, beating the pairing of Laura Anderson and Michelle Kisiel 8-0.
 
Finishing out the field in singles play was Vinisha Reddy, who won her fourth straight match with an 8-2 decision over Anderson, and Petrilla, who cruised to an 8-1 victory over Alisha Zanath.
