SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Clarion women's tennis team went on the road and battled but was unable to overcome home-court advantage, falling by a 9-0 score to Slippery Rock on Thursday. Â The Golden Eagles (5-9) will take on Mercyhurst on Saturday.
Maria Snyder put up a fight in the No. 2 singles match, battling Tiffany Kollah but ultimately falling by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Â Amanda Bruscemi also held off a challenge by
Michelle Petrilla, overcoming her in straight sets, and
Allison Probst rallied against Allie Welch in the second set but dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision in the second set.
Petrilla and
Katie Benson put up the toughest fight in doubles action, pushing Welch and Zoe McCafferty to an 8-4 score in the No. 3 doubles match. Â Snyder and Probst also dropped their doubles match, falling by an 8-2 score in the No. 2 match.
