Henry, Brest Hit PSAC Marks at Al Hall Freedom Games

Full Results

EDINBORO, Pa.
– The Clarion track & field team saw two athletes hit qualifying marks for the PSAC Championships and a number of others come close, as the Golden Eagles competed at the Al Hall Freedom Games hosted by Edinboro.

The highlight of the day was the Distance Medley Relay team of Anna Foster, Alice Fernald, Allison Gates and Kayce Bobnar, with the quartet winning the race in a time of 13:47.80.  That was seven seconds faster than Slippery Rock's squad that came in second.  Foster also had a strong performance in the Mile, posting a time of 5:35 that was good for fourth in the field.

Style Henry continued her progression towards PSAC Championships in the 60m taking third in a time of 7.92 to qualify her for the championship meet later this winter.  That mark came tantalizingly close to her program record of 7.78 set last year.  She just barely missed qualifying in the 200m, running a 26.56 that was just .22 shy of the mark.  That was good enough for second in the race behind Slippery Rock's Emily Horstman.  Fernald took fourth in the 200m with a time of 26.86.

In the field, Katie Brest took second in the Weight Throw, crushing the PSAC qualifying mark with a toss of 14.08m.  She also took fourth in the Shot Put, tossing the implement 10.52m.
