AUSTIN, Texas – For the second straight year the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) acknowledged Clarion safety
Sam Fareri for his academic as well as athletic accomplishments, with the Golden Eagle senior earning First Team Academic All-America honors. He is Clarion's first ever two-time Academic All-American in Football, and the first two-time honoree in any sport since Tyler Falk (Baseball).

Fareri is one of 13 repeat athletes on this year's Academic All-America team, having earned Second Team honors in 2018, and is the only PSAC student-athlete on this year's list to earn the honor in multiple years. There are a total of four PSAC football players on the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team and five across both teams.

Fareri (3.82 – Rehab. Science) led the Golden Eagles with 84 total tackles, including a team-high 47 solo stops. He made an impact in all facets of the defense with four pass break-ups, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick.Â

Throughout his career, Fareri was a force in taking the ball away from opponents. He recorded 10 career interceptions, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, and finished with 259 career tackles in a Clarion uniform. A steady force in the lineup, Fareri made 44 career starts without missing a single game.
