ERIE, Pa. -- The Golden Eagle tennis team closed out their season on Wednesday afternoon, falling by a score of 7-0 to Mercyhurst in the PSAC finale.
The Lakers opened up the day by winning both matches in the doubles session.
Savannah Buttery and
Josie Beckerleg took two games from the pair of Sara Bertolez Puente and Valentine Budin, but could not complete the win in falling by a 6-2 score. Mercyhurst won the No. 1 doubles match by a 6-0 score to take the doubles point.
Alexis Strouse played well in the No. 1 singles match, but ultimately could not defeat Kayla Dean in falling 6-3, 6-0.
Alyson Fisher and
Charlie Allison also took games off their respective opponents, but fell in straight sets to Roisin Murphy and Budin, respectively.
