DUBOIS, Pa. - The Clarion baseball team traveled north to Dubois to take on the Lions of Penn State Dubois at Showers Field where Clarion was the designated home team for the single nine inning matchup.
Clarion (10-28) will get back into conference play on Friday when they head to Cal U to take on the Vulcans at Wildthings Park in Washington, Pa.

Recap: Penn State scored 17 runs on 10 hits and two Clarion errors on their way to teh 17-4 victory. The Lions jumped out to an early 9-0 lead through the first three innings until the Golden Eagles could jump onto the scoreboard.
In the bottom of the fourth inning Clarion used two hits to score two runs, stranding two runners making the score 7-2.
Caden Contant singled to start the inning and advanced to second base after
Lenny Piccini was hit by a pitch.
Brett Pitzer singled just two batters later to load the bases with just one out to put the pressure on the Dubois pitching staff.
Sam Economy walked in the very next at bat to score the Blue and Gold first run of the game to make the score 7-1 and after a
Griffin Snyder sac fly, Clarion ended the inning with a little momentum with the score 7-2.
Dubois answered with four more runs in the top of the fifth inning to extend the lead to 13-2 and added another four runs in the top of the eighth inning to make the score 17-2.
Clarion managed to add two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, using one hit and one error to score the runs and make it 17-4.
Danny Fox was walked to put the first runner on base for the Golden Eagles and advanced to third after a single from Pitzer that found the outfield turf.
Nate Petke reached on an error by the Penn State right fielder, allowing both Fox and Pitzer to score, making the score its ultimate deficit 17-4.
Fox got the start on the mound for Clarion, tossing 2.0 inning, allowing two runs on two hits, walking three and striking out four Lion batters.
Pitching by committee Clarion used seven pitchers throughout the game, racking up 15 total strikeouts.
Petke picked up two RBI's for Clarion, while Economy added another.
Pitzer and
Tyler Meachum each paced the Clarion attack, picking up two hits each on the night.
