GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Clarion baseball team traveled to PSAC West powerhouse, the Seton Hill Griffins, Friday afternoon, falling in both games of their doubleheader with the Griffins by scores of 10-0 in game one and 4-3 in game two. Clarion (7-19) will stay in Greensburg overnight and take on the Griffins in games three and four of the series tomorrow with Clarion being designated the home team. First pitch is slated for 1 pm.
Game 1: Seton Hill 10, Clarion 0

The Griffins scored seven runs on six hits and one Clarion error, stranding three runners using five stolen bases and three wild pitch's to grab all the momentum from the Golden Eagles.Â
The Clarion pitching staff settled in as
Reilly Shafer allowed just four hits throughout the rest of the game limiting the Griffins to three more runs in the bottom of the third, extending their lead to 10-0.Â
Shafer tossed 5.1 innings of action, allowing three earned runs on four hits, while striking out three Griffins with his off-speed repertoire.Â
The Golden Eagles managed to add three hits to the hit column with
Kasey Shughart leading the way for Clarion, going 2 for 3 at the plate, while
Griffin Snyder added the other hit for Clarion.Â
A game where the blue and gold struggled to get things going offensively, Clarion stranded three base runners in the losing effort.Â
Game 2: Seton Hill 4, Clarion 3

Danny Fox homer to left field scored all three runs in the top of the first inning scoring
Caden Contant and Shughart who both singled earlier in the inning.Â
The Griffins scored one run in the bottom of the second using three hits and a walk to pull back within two. The score remained 3-1 until the bottom of the fourth inning when a single and double scored one run making the score 3-2.Â
Clarion kept the Griffins hitters off balance for the next few innings, but the Griffins jumped on the Clarion pitching staff in the bottom of the sixth tying the game at 3-3 after three hits allowed Seton Hill to circle around the base paths.Â
Clarion and Seton Hill remained tied until the ninth when the Griffins were able to use a couple walks and a wild pitch before a single through the left side scored the winning Griffin who walked earlier in the inning as Seton Hill walked it off in extra innings.Â
Trevor McGee got the nod for Clarion going 5.0 innings allowing eight hits surrendering just two runs, while fanning six Griffin batters.Â
Fox paced the Clarion offense going 1 for 3 at the plate driving in all three of Clarion's runs with a homerun. Â
