JOHNSTOWN, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a late goal on Wednesday afternoon, tying Pitt-Johnstown by a 2-2 score. Clarion earned the draw by matching the Mountain Cats each time they scored, including a tally in the 86
th minute to even things up for good.
Â
The Golden Eagles outchanced the Mountain Cats by a significant margin, topping them 15-12 in total shots and 8-5 in shots on net. Corner kicks were even at five apiece.
Â
Ciara DiMauro and
Jaci Bowser scored timely goals, with both coming mere minutes after the Mountain Cats had taken the lead. The former's goal came in the 13

Â
Neither side scored for much of the second half, though both had their opportunities to do so. Wicker had an opportunity to put her team ahead in the 57
th minute but lifted a shot over the net.
Grace Mullen and
Marisa Colondrillo both took shot attempts, but the former was stopped by Giesey in the 65
th minute.
Â
Lydia Roman put the Mountain Cats ahead late, scoring in the 82
nd minute to make it a 2-1 game, but the Golden Eagles were not ready to go away quietly. Sustained offensive pressure led to a Clarion corner kick in the 86
th minute, with
Kylee Cross lofting a pass toward the goal mouth. Senior forward
Jaci Bowser elevated and headed it past Giesey for her first goal of the year, tying the score with mere minutes remaining. Pitt-Johnstown had one more offensive chance but went offside in the 89
th minute as the draw held.
