JOHNSTOWN, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles soccer team concluded their 2024 season with a 4-0 loss to Pitt-Johnstown on the road on Saturday. The Mountain Cats blitzed Clarion in the first half, scoring three goals and holding a shots advantage of 24-11 throughout the game.

Pitt-Johnstown opened the scoring six minutes into the match when Haley Neidig netted her seventh goal of the season. Neidig lined up a shot just outside the box, sending a strike past a leaping
Alex Velez. Neidig, who also recorded two assists in the game, assisted on the second goal of the half when Nicole Hawk beat the Golden Eagles' defense to give Pitt-Johnstown a 2-0 lead. Lydia Roman added a third goal with just under three minutes remaining in the first half.

Ciara DiMauro led the Golden Eagles' offensive attack, but she was unable to get the ball past Mountain Cat goalkeeper Emma Morin. DiMauro finished the game with five shots, two of which were on target.

The second half saw a back-and-forth stalemate early on, with neither side able to break through the defenses. Roman changed that with 32 minutes remaining in the second half, as she netted her second goal of the game. The goal was assisted by Neidig and Hawk, to give the Mountain Cats an insurmountable 4-0 advantage.

Marisa Colondrillo got a shot on target 13 minutes into the second half, but the Golden Eagles had several more chances, including attempts by Colondrillo, DiMauro, and
Wrena Wentz with 27 minutes remaining. However, none of the shots posed a significant threat to the Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper.

Alex Velez performed admirably under constant pressure from the Pitt-Johnstown attack, saving 10 of the 14 shots put on goal.

Savannah Houk all logged full 90-minute shifts for the Golden Eagles.
