CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles saw their nine-game win streak snapped at home on Tuesday afternoon, as Clarion dropped an 11-6 decision to D'Youville at Memorial Stadium. Both teams swung hot bats early in the game before settling in late, with neither team scoring again after the top of the sixth inning.

The combined for 18 hits and five errors, fueling the offenses for both sides. The Saints got the better of that exchange, with eight of their 11 runs on the day unearned. Likewise, the Golden Eagles scored six total runs, but just two of those were earned.

An error at shortstop extended the top of the first inning, putting the Saints in position to score three runs, including two on a single by Jake Hollins. They tacked on two more in the second after an RBI double by Derek Onevelo and an RBI grounder by Alec Boucher, but Clarion got both of those runs back in the bottom of the inning.
Cole Yeager drilled a double to deep center field to score
Randy Carlo, and he later came around to score on a grounder by
Caden Contant to make it 5-2.

The Golden Eagles got as close as 5-3 in the bottom fo the third inning, after a dropped fly ball in center field allowed
Tyson Gill to score from first base to cut the deficit to 5-3. The Saints responded with two runs in the fourth inning, though Clarion punched back with an RBI infield single from
Connor Booth.

D'Youville increased their lead to 10-4 in the top of the fifth inning, including a two-run double by Bily Morris. Carlo and Yeager hit back-to-back RBI singles to make it 10-6 but the Golden Eagles got no closer.

Yeager went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Carlo and Grififn Snyder each had two hits.
Jack Edner had an effective relief appearance, allowing no runs in 2.1 innings pitched.
