CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles tennis team hosted a PSAC crossover match on Friday afternoon, taking on Kutztown at Campbell Courts and falling by a 6-1 score.
 
Emily McMahan won both matches she was involved in on Friday, teaming up with Taelyn Thomas to win the No. 2 doubles match and later taking the win in the No. 3 singles match. She and Thomas went up by a break in the doubles session, leading 4-1 and 5-2 before the Golden Bears' pairing of Gabby Gentile and Ryleigh Bohning rallied back to within 6-5. Thomas and McMahan locked in, winning the final game for a 7-5 match win.
 
The Golden Bears won the No. 1 doubles match, taking the doubles session and the 1-0 advantage in the match.
 
McMahan went on to beat Bohning in the singles session, rallying back from being a set down for a three-set victory. Bohning took the first set by a 7-5 score but McMahan countered with a 6-3 win in the second set, forcing a third set tiebreaker. McMahan won that by a 10-4 score for the match win.
 
Thomas very nearly took a singles match of her own, forcing a tiebreaker in the first set against Gentile. Their first set went to a 7-4 tiebreaker with Gentile coming out on top, and Gentile won the second set 6-2 for the match win.
 
Clarion will be back in action on Saturday when they head on the road to face Shippensburg.
