CLARION TIES PSAC OPPONENT

Jill Miller

Box Score

CLARION-Unlucky bounces kept the Clarion women's soccer team in a tie with PSAC opponent Mansfield University Saturday afternoon as the game ended 0-0.
The Golden Eagles out shot Mansfield 19-2 in the game, a stat that left head-coach Rob Eaton saying, “The dang ball just wouldn't go in.”

One specific instance was late in the second overtime when a hard shot from Jill Miller hit the left goal post, bounced straight across the goal line, hit the right goal post and then bounced out. “That was just our luck today,” said Coach Eaton.

Miller led the Clarion attack with nine total shots. Jordan Bahr and Kathleen Lawson both added two shots of their own.

Jenna Kulik had two saves in the game to notch the shutout for Clarion.

The tie puts Clarion at a 4-5-4 overall record, and 4-3-3 in the PSAC.

The Golden Eagles next home game will be another PSAC game at Memorial Stadium against California University on Saturday, October 23 at 7pm.
