CLARION-Clarion was edged out by PSAC opponent California 1-0 in the final minutes Saturday night.

The Golden Eagles held on tight to the tie ball game but slipped in the 86th minute to give up the lead.

“We just took one of the best teams in the country down to the wire,” said first year head coach Rob Eaton.

“I am very very pleased with our performance,” Eaton continued. California was ranked 12th in the nation in the latest polls from NSCAA on October 19th.

Clarion only had four shots in the game to California's 14.

Golden Eagle goal keeper Jenna Kulik made seven saves in the game.

“This is probably the best we have played all year…we surely gave them all they could handle,” coach Eaton stated.

Clarion will be back on the field for a make-up game against Bloomsburg on Tuesday at 7pm at Memorial Stadium.
