Box Score

WEST CHESTER – No. 13 West Chester got a pair of late goals to pull away from Clarion 4-0 in PSAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles (4-4-3 overall, 4-2-2 PSAC) trailed 1-0 at halftime and 2-0 after a West Chester goal in the 57th minute before the Golden Rams scored a goal in the 76th minute and then got a penalty shot goal in the 83rd minute to break open the game.

“We played pretty well in the first half,” Clarion's first-year head coach Rob Eaton said. “They just wore us down, and their goalie made two great saves in the last 10 minutes on Jill Miller and Lauren Barbour. But that was probably the best team we've played all year. I'm happy with our effort.”

Clarion keeper Jenna Kulik made seven saves in the game, as West Chester (10-1 overall, 8-1 PSAC) outshot Clarion 18-4 including 13-3 in the second half.

The Golden Eagles return to action Tuesday when they travel back across the state to face Kutztown at 3 p.m.

NOTES – Clarion is ranked 10th in the Atlantic Region by the NSCAA … The four conference wins for the Golden Eagles are the most in school history.
