WHEELING, WV – Despite freshman
Jordan Bahr's second goal is as many games, the Clarion University women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at Wheeling Jesuit Wednesday night.
Bahr's goal came in the 10
th minute and tied the game at one.
Jordan Daloisio picked up the assist for her first point of the year.
Wheeling Jesuit, which had taken a 1-0 lead on a Kara Houston goal off a Megan Newrones assist in the fourth minute, regained the lead in the 27
th minute when Houston fed Hannah Walker who beat Clarion goalkeeper
Jenna Kulik to make it 2-1.
Clarion trailed by the single tally until late when Wheeling Jesuit put the game away on Houston's second goal of the game, which came unassisted.
Kulik made four saves for Clarion in taking the loss, while Melissa Taylor had five saves for Wheeling Jesuit in getting the win in net.
The Golden Eagles had 11 shots on goal, five in the first half and six in the second, to the Cardinals 10 shots – five in each half.
Clarion dropped to 0-1-1 with the loss, while Wheeling Jesuit improved to 1-2. Clarion returns to action Friday when it hosts East Stroudsburg. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
NOTES – The Golden Eagles home game schedule for Saturday against Bloomsburg has been postponed until 7 p.m. Oct. 27.
