CLARION-
Alyssa Liebdzinski's goal in the 28
th minute was the difference in the game as Clarion (4-8-2, 2-7-2) knocked of Shippensburg (5-6-3, 3-5-2) 1-0 Tuesday evening, at Memorial Stadium.
“The effort was fantastic,” said Coach Rob Eaton. “I think tactically we changed some things that really helped us and I don't think the other team was ready for the changes we made.”
Liebdzinski was the hero for the Golden Eagles when she broke the scoreless tie in the 28
th minute off a
Casey Harsch assist.
“I feel great about getting the goal,” said Liebdzinski. “I got a free kick from Casey from the right side of the field, I just watched it and nobody followed my post so I was able to left foot it into the back of the net.”
Clarion's goalie
Laura Saussol recorded the shut out with a total of thirteen saves.
“I know my role on the field is always to keep the ball out of the net,” said Saussol. “It was a team effort and a good win.”
Clarion travels to California Pa. next Saturday, October 11, and will be back home for their regular season finale Saturday, October 22, where they will host Kutztown.
