(Hilton Head, S.C.): the Clarion women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision on Friday to UNC-Pembroke in its Spring Break finale at Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The Golden Eagles were 0-3 o the trip and have a combined record of 2-9 including the Fall season. Pembroke raised its record to 4-8.
The doubles tandem of Jaclyn Metzger and Michaela Hardy played a strong match against Jenna McGary and Mia Winterbottom, but lost at #1 doubles by an 8-6 score.
Brittany Buchheit and Claire Kerstetter lost 8-1 to Maricel Quintero and Christian Minnick at #2, while Lauren Eonta and Tawnya Waggle lost 8-2 to Madeline DiNunzio and Beverly Vause at #3 doubles.
Meztger lost 6-1, 6-1 to McGary at #1 singles. Hardy lost 6-0, 6-0 to Winterbottom at #2, Buchheit lost 6-2, 6-1 to Quintero at #3, Eonta lost 6-0, 6-0 to DiNunzio at #4, Kerstetter lost 6-1, 6-2 to Minnick at #5 and Waggle dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Hunt at #6.
The Golden Eagles are off now until March 29 when clarion travels to Slippery Rock for a 3:30pm match.
