CLARION NETTERS LOSE 9-0 AT S.R.

Jaclyn Metzger Loses 6-4, 7-6 (7-1)

(Slippery Rock, Pa.): Clarion's Women's Tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision at Slippery Rock on Tuesday in the PSAC-West opener for both teams. The Rock is rated #26 nationally.

Clarion drops to 2-10 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC-West, while Slippery Rock is now 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the West.

The Golden Eagles lost all six singles matches – with #1 player Jaclyn Metzger playing great tennis before losing 6-4, 7-6 to Sarah Lynch. At #2 Michaela Hardy lost 6-1, 6-0 to Dunja Drmac, while the remainder of the Eagles lost 6-0, 6-0 including Brittany Buchheit at #3, Laruen Eonta at #4, Claire Kerstetter at #5 and newcomer Stephanie Harrison at #6.

In doubles play Metzger and Hardy lost 8-3 to Lynch and Krant at #1, Buchheit and Kerstetter lost 8-0 to Drmac and Coggins and Eonta and Waggle lost 8-1 to Yetiskul and Bruggeman.

Clarion is scheduled to host California on Friday at the Campbell Courts starting at 4pm, then travel to Mercyhurst to take on the Lakers on Saturday at 1pm.
