CLARION NETTERS LOSE 9-0 TO CHESTNUT HILL

#1 Singles Jaclyn Metzger

(Hilton Head, S.C.): The Clarion University Women's Tennis team opened its Spring season in Hilton Head,, S.C. on Monday with a 9-0 loss against Chestnut Hill College.

Clarion #1 singles ace Jaclyn Metzger lost a very close match to Chestnut Hills Nastia Shcherbakova 4-6, 6-3, 10-4.

Claire Kerstetter also played a long match in losing 7-6, 6-4 at #5 singles to Regina Doherty.

In doubles action the Golden Eagles were swept. Metzger/Michaela Hardy lost to Shcherbakova/Dennis 8-3, Lauren Eonta and Brittany Buchheit lost 8-3 to Parapouras and Knott and Kerstetter/Tawnya Waggle lost 8-5 to Regina and Sarah Doherty.

The Golden Eagles under coach Lori Sabatose are a combined 2-7 in the 2010-11 season and will host Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday.
