(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's women's tennis team won all nine matches on Sunday and won their first PSAC-West match of the Spring as the Golden Eagles downed Edinboro 9-0 in matchup held at Clarion's Campbell Courts.

 

            The Golden Eagles raised their overall record to 3-12 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC-West, while Edinboro, who recently revived their program, dropped to 1-9 on the season.

 

            Clarion #1 player Jaclyn Metzger defeated Hannah Boyer 6-0, 6-1, while Michaela Hardy blanked Kaitlin Voss 6-0, 6-0 at #2 and Brittany Buchheit defeated Laura Winters 6-4, 6-0 at #3. Lauren Eonta defeated Joyce Durfee 6-3, 6-1 at #4 singles, while Claire Kerstetter downed Sara Lahnan 6-0, 6-3 at #5 singles and Stephanie Harrison won by forfeit at #6 singles.

 

            In doubles play Metzger and Hardy defeated Voss and Boyer 8-2 at #1 doubles, while Hardy and Buchheit won an 8-4 decision over Winters and Durfee at #2. Eonta and Tawnya Waggle won by forfeit at #3 doubles.

 

            Clarion's will host IUP at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in another PSAC-West matchup at the Campbell Courts.
