CLARION NETTERS LOSE 9-0 AT MERCYHURST

(Erie, Pa.): Clarion's women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Mercyhurst in a PSAC-Western Division matchup at the Pennbriar Tennis Club in Erie, Pa. on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles dropped to 2-11 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC-West, while Mercyhurst raised its record to 17-3 overall and 2-0 in the West.

Clarion #1 player Jaclyn Metzger played well but lost a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Kim Ezzo. Michaela Hardy lost 6-0, 6-2 to Rebecca Haener at #2 singles, while Brittany Buchheit, Claire Kerstetter, Tawnya Waggle and Stephanie Harrison all lost 6-0, 6-0 from #3 - #6 singles.

In doubles play Metzger and Hardy lost 8-0 to Ezzo and Bristol at #1, while Buchheit and Kerstetter lost 8-1 to Haener and Macke at #2 and Harrison and Waggle lost 8-0 to Thompson and Conway.

Clarion's home match on Sunday versus California has been re-scheduled for Thursday, April 7. The next match for the Golden Eagles is against Edinboro at the Campbell Courts on Wednesday starting at 4pm.
