EAGLE NETTERS LOSE 9-0 TO CAL

(Erie, Pa.): Clarion's women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to California in a PSAC-Western Division matchup hosted by Clarion at the Campbell Courts on Thursday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles dropped to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC-West, while the Vulcans oosted their record to 15-7 overall and 2-0 in the West..

Clarion #1 player Jaclyn Metzger lost a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Annabel Pieschl , while. Michaela Hardy lost 6-1, 6-0 to Jade Pondicas at #2 singles and Brittany Buchheit lost 6-1, 6-0 at #3 singles to Frankziska Steinhardt. Lauren Eonta also lost 6-1, 6-0 to Anastassiya Zherdeva at #4, Claire Kerstetter lost 6-0, 6-0 to Axelle Fernandez at #5 and Stephanie Harrison lost 6-0, 6-0 to Laurie Navarro at #6.

In doubles play Metzger and Hardy lost 8-0 to Pieschl and Pondicas at #1, while Buchheit and Kerstetter lost 8-0 to Fernandez and Zherdeva at #2 and Eonta and Waggle lost 8-0 to Steinhard and Navarro.

Clarion's next match is on Sunday at 4pm against Edinboro at Clarion's Campbell Courts.
