FR. GOALKEEPER RECORDS SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

Laura Saussol

Box Score

CLARION-Freshman goalkeeper, Laura Saussol, recorded her second straight shutout for the Clarion women's soccer team as they beat visiting Wheeling Jesuit 2-0 Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium.

Saussol made twelve saves on the night.

"I told her that for each game she has to make one save to keep the ball from going in, just one," said Clarion head coach Rob Eaton. "Tonight she made two important, outstanding saves."

The Golden Eagles got their first goal in the 15th minute of the game off a fortunate bounce that went off a Wheeling Jesuit player and into the Cardinals net.

Clarion's second goal was from a brilliant header by freshman, Autumn Rosenberg and assisted by senior Jordan Daloisio

"It was a professional win," said Eaton.  "We didn't play as well as we should have for the full 90 minutes, but I am still happy with the result."  Clarion marked a total of ten shots on goal.

Clarion will be back in action on the road at East Stroudsburg on Friday.  Its next home game will be next Saturday, Sept. 17, when the Golden Eagles battle Gannon at Memorial Stadium.
