Box Score CLARION, Pa. – Clarion Senior Bethany Naugle scored in the 109^th minute to defeat Mercyhurst in double-overtime Saturday night 2-1.
 
“I'm delighted for the kids,” Clarion head coach Rob Eaton said. “They needed something like that. We battled tonight in the second half and overtime…It was a refuse to lose attitude”
 
Mercyhurst (4-7-1 overall, 1-7-1 PSAC) took the lead in the 33^rd minute when Sara Hawksworth scored. Clarion's (2-7-3, 2-6-1) senior Lauren Barbour tied things in the 75^th minute off a penalty kick.
 
It was the seniors who dominated for Clarion on Senior Day. Naugle scored with only a minute to go in the second overtime to clinch the win for the Golden Eagles 2-1.
 
“I'm really pleased for the seniors,” coach Eaton said. “Who knows maybe the next two or three games we can surprise some people and they can still have the best season the school's ever had.
 
Laura Saussol had 11 saves for Clarion.
 
The Golden Eagles will host Edinboro Tuesday at 7 p.m.
