                (Erie, Pa.): The Clarion University baseball team dropped a pair of games at Gannon on Sunday by scores of 8-2 and 20-4 at Gannon's University Field.
 
                Clarion's record dropped to 5-11 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC-West. Gannon raised its record to 14-10 overall and 6-2 in the West. The games were originally scheduled at Clarion, but poor playing conditions at Memorial Stadium moved the games to Erie.
 
                In game one, an 8-2 loss, Gannon jumped in front 4-0 with four runs in the second inning off starter and loser Jon Roncolato.
 
                The Golden Eagles bounced back with two runs in the bottom of the second when Kasey Clinton walked and Matt Rossi singled Clinton to third. Josh Beimel brought Clinton home with a sacrifice fy, and Ken Morgan tripled home Rossi for the two Eagle runs, making in 4-2.
 
                Gannon added one run in the fifth and three in the sixth to make the final score 8-2.
 
                Roncolato pitched four plus innings, yielded 5 runs, all earned, on 7 hits with 3 walks and 3 strike outs. Brett Whitman pitched the final three innings yielding 3 runs on 3 hits. Clarion managed 5 hits, two by Ken Morgan to lead the team.
 
                In game two Gannon exploded for 20 runs on 16 hits to defeat the Eagles 20-4. Gannon led 6-0 after two innings, getting two in the first and four in the second off starter and loser Mark White.
 
                Clarion's Matt Rossi homered to open the bottom of the second to make it a 6-1 game, but Gannon scored 3 times in the top of the fourth for a 9-1 lead.
 
                Clarion rallied for two in the bottom of the fifth to make it 9-3. Jerico Weitzel opened the inning with a walk, Bill Hasson singled to left, and with one out, Ken Morgan was hit by a pitch loading the bases. Matt Rossi scored Weitzel on a fielder's choice, but an errant throw on the play also scored Hasson for the Eagles second run.
 
                Gannon slammed the door with an 11-run sixth inning to win the game going away. Clarion added a run in the bottom of the seventh for the 20-4 final.
 
                Weitzel was 2 for 3 in game two, while Rossi had 3 rbi's for the Golden Eagles. White pitched 4 innings and yielded 9 runs, 6 earned. Seth Peterson tossed 1.1 innings yielding 3 runs, Eric Hesdon gave up 5 runs without getting an out, Sam Skraba tossed 0.1 innings giving up 3 runs and Chris Kumar tossed 1.1 innings giving up no runs and no hits.
 
                Clarion is scheduled to travel to Bloomsburg for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
