EAGLE NETTERS LOSE 9-0 TO THE LAKERS

(Clarion, Pa.) The Clarion's Women's Tennis hosted the Mercyhurst Lakers on Saturday for a conference match. The Golden Eagles were defeated by a 9-0 score.

Clarion's overall record is now 6-6 (0-3 PSAC-West).

In singles action, Jaclyn Metzger was defeated by Caroline Bristol at No. 1 by a 7-5, 6-0 score. Megan Bettwy was defeated by Courtney Thompson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2; Madeline Robinson lost to Rebecca Haener 6-2, 6-2 at No.3; Lauren Rhine was defeated by Sarah Baich 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4; Brittany Buchheit lost to Taylor Wedlake 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5; and Caitlin Clemons lost to Courtney Conway 6-0, 6-7, (7-5) No. 6.

In doubles play, Metzger and Clemons lost to Bristol and Baich 8-3 at No. 1; Bettwy and Rhine lost to Thompson and Haener 8-2 at No. 2; and Robinson and Michaela Hardy lost to Conway and Katelyn Caniford 8-1 at No. 3.

The Golden Eagles will take travel to Edinboro on Tuesday to take on the Fighting Scots for a conference match. The start time is at 3:00 p.m.
