(Indiana, Pa.): The 2011-12 Clarion University women's tennis team dropped their season finale at IUP on Friday by a final score of 9-0 at the south Campus Courts. The Crimson Hawks were ranked #1 in the region prior to the match.
Clarion finished its season with an overall record of 8-7 and a 1-4 mark in the PSAC-West. IUP raised its record to 18-6 overall and 4-1 in the West.
In singles play
Jaclyn Metzger lost 6-1, 6-2 to Tabtip Louhabanjong at #1;
Megan Bettwy lost 6-0, 6-1 to Tanya Timko at #2;
Madeline Robinson lost 6-1, 6-0 to Katie Eaton at #3; Laruen Rhine lost 6-2, 6-3 to Abby McCormick at #4;
Claire Kerstetter lost 6-1, 6-4 to Emilia Osborne at #5 and
Michaela Hardy lost 6-0, 6-0 to Erika Schnaas at #6.
In double play, Metzger and Robinson lost 8-1 to Louhabanjong and Eaton at #1; Bettwy and Cailtin Clemons lost 8-3 to Timko and Osborne at #2 and Rhine and Kerstetter lost 8-1 to Schnaas and Ranvita Mahto at #3.
Clarion will compete at the PSAC singles and doubles competition at Bloomsburg starting Aporil 22nd.
