Box Score
(Clarion, Pa.): The Clarion women's soccer team opened the 2012 season at Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon and posted a 0-0 tie against WVIAC foe Alderson – Broaddus.

The two teams played 90 minutes of regulation, as well as two, overtime periods before ending in the tie. Clarion has a season record of 0-0-1, while A-B is now 0-1-1.

“I thought we played a very strong game today and I couldn't be happier with our overall performance today,” said third year head coach rob Eaton.  “We did a great job of controlling the action and ball possession today. With that we had more scoring opportunities than I can remember. Creating those opportunities is important – we'll eventual start scoring goals if we continue to play the way we did today, against a very good team.”

Clarion used 18 players in the game and created 4 shots for Crystal Miller, along with 3 for Bethany Naugle and 2 each for Alexa Ream, Laura Domena, Alyssa Katz, Liz Venture and Mackenzie Stover.

Clarion goalie Laura Saussol made 3 saves, while A-B goalie Kate Laird made 12 saves against the Eagles. Clarion managed 20 shots to A-B's 8.

Clarion will host Millersville at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 4pm.
