Laura Saussol recorded 13 saves, but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles dropped the decision 2-0 to Seton Hill at Memorial Stadium Tuesday night.
“The other team was better than us,” Clarion head coach Rob Eaton said. “They outplayed us in every facet of the game, and I was kind of shocked at the level of performance. “
Seton Hill (5-4) led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Katelyn Wiater goal off a Breanna Novosel assist in the 21
st minute. The Griffins stretched their lead to 2-0 after a Novosel goal in the 46
th minute.
Casey Harsch had two shots; one on goal while,
Lauren Barbour added two shots of her own. Clarion (1-5-2 overall) had six shots as a team and one shot on goal.
Saussol was strong saving 13 of the 15 shots she faced.
“We have two huge games this weekend,” coach Eaton said. “I wouldn't put it past this team to turn around and win both.”
Clarion hosts Bloomsburg Friday at noon.
