SOCCER GIVES UP LATE GOAL IN 2-1 LOSS AT GANNON

Nikita Bonnell had Clarion's goal

Box Score ERIE, Pa. – Mini Brueckner scored her second goal of the game off a corner kick in the 86th minute to lift Gannon to a 2-1 win over visiting Clarion in PSAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon in Erie.
 
Clarion (4-8-3 overall, 3-8-3 PSAC West) fell behind 1-0 less than five minutes into the game when Brueckner scored on a penalty kick in the fifth minute before Nikita Bonnell scored her first goal of the season beating the defender and sneaking the ball inside the crossbar in the 12th minute to tie the contest.
 
Laura Saussol made four saves for Clarion in the loss, while Sarah Geffel had three saves.
 
Gannon (9-5-1, 9-4-1) outshot Clarion 24-8 but only 6-4 on the shots on goal. Bonnell had four shots, two on goal, to lead the Golden Eagles.
 
Clarion returns to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bloomsburg.
