                (Washington, Pa.):  Clarion junior catcher Nick Maskrey (Cranesville) had three hits on the day and freshman pitcher Tyler Delval (Cokeburg) pitched a complete game in game 2, but the Golden Eagle baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader on Friday against California by scores of 10-0 and 3-1 in non-league play.
 
                Clarion dropped to 0-4 on the season, while Cal raised its record to 6-2. The non-conference dh was a way for both teams to try and get some games played prior to the start of PSAC-West play.
 
                In game two, freshman pitcher Tyler Delval pitched 6 innings and gave up only 6 hits and three runs while walking only one batter, despite losing the game 3-1.
 
                Cal scored two runs in the second for a 2-0 lead, but the Eagles bounced back for a run in the top of the third. Jon Roncolato reached on a two-base error and came home to score on a double by Nick Maskrey.
 
                Clarion had two runners on base in both the fifth and sixth innings with a chance to tie or take the lead, but missed both opportunities. Cal added a run in the bottom of the sixth and the eagles lost 3-1.
 
                Clarion had 5 hits in the game including 2 by Maskrey, and one each by Joey Lopez, Bill Hasson and Ryan Voisey.
 
                In game one Clarion lost by a 10-0 score. Brett Whitman started and went three innings giving up 6 runs on 6 hits. Sam Skraba pitched two scoreless innings, while Kevin Gnacinski started the sixth and gave up 4 runs, then got relief help from Shane Sullivan who went one inning giving up no runs.
 
                Clarion Had 4 hits in the game including one each from Derek Danver, Maskrey, Jordan Mesoraco and Bill Hasson.
 
                Clarion will play IUP at the Point Stadium in Johnstown on Sunday.
