Box Score 2 BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Despite two hit games from
Bill Hasson in Game One and
Drew Pirritano in Game Two, the Clarion University baseball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader at Bloomsburg Sunday afternoon.
In Game One, Bloomsburg scored a school-record 30 runs, on its way to a 30-2 victory, and the Huskies completed the sweep with an 11-1 win in Game Two.
Clarion actually led 1-0 in the first game before allowing the next 10 runs, including nine in the second inning. The Golden Eagles made it 10-2 with a run in the top of the third before Bloomsburg exploded for 20 runs in the next four innings including a 10-run fourth and a five-run fifth. The Huskies also scored three in the third and two in the fifth.
The Golden Eagles grabbed the lead in the game in the top of the first when Pirritano singled leading off the game and scored on two-out single by Hasson.
Clarion's run in the third came when Hasson led off with a single and scored on a
Ryan Voisey singled two batters latter.
Sam Skraba took the loss going 1 2/3 innings allowing seven runs, six earned, on seven hits.

Ken DiBucci,
Drew Vandermeer and
Kevin Gnacinski also pitched with Gnacinski striking out two in 2 1/3 but also allowing seven runs, six earned.
In Game Two, Bloomsburg jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning and then added two in the third, one in the fourth and four in the sixth.
Clarion's lone run game in the sixth when Pirritano hit his first home run, a shot to left field. He also singled in the first but was stranded at third.
Caleb McGary allowed only four earned runs but was tagged for 11 total thanks to five Clarion errors. He went six innings allowing 11 hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out two.
With the losses, Clarion dropped to 1-39 overall. They close the season with a pair of doubleheaders against Lock Haven. Friday at Lock Haven and Saturday at Clarion.
